The consort of King Irenaeus Lacktail, and a character referred to in both The Winterbough Saga and The Ballad of Adler Young.
Being a mephitess from Frostheim, she was white-furred like her mate. While she did give birth to heirs to the Lacktail, it is said that she and Irenaeus did not get along, and that eventually Aelfhilde was shut up in a tall tower. When Scuti Prime was cast away from its host, Ireaneus, it went to the White Tower, and there (so legend has it), the Queen provided her own enchanted tail, thus starting the line of scuti, and not incidentally giving credence to the idea that scuti are of royal origin.
Her place of burial is unknown; no monument to her in the Hall of Ancestors has been seen to date.
